Westy Hopkins

I spend most of my time building and investing in companies that I believe are great businesses. Growing up, both of my parents ran their own businesses and I didn’t realize how much of an impact that had on me until later in life. It takes a tremendous amount of courage, passion and focus to turn an idea into reality. Oftentimes, you have to be a little crazy to believe in something that the rest of the world can’t see yet. Most recently, I’ve been focused on building something new and I’m excited to share it with the world soon. I was also one of the co-founders of 12media, a digital rideshare advertising business, and a location-based network called Wave. Along with building, I love working with other entrepreneurs and hearing their stories – everyone and their perspectives are so unique. Throughout my career, I’ve worked as a venture investor at Kentmore Capital, Great Oaks Venture Capital and Time Warner Investments. Prior to that, I started my career on the consumer investment banking team at Morgan Stanley in NYC. I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia (Go Birds), went to LaSalle College High School (Class of 2009) and then did a post-graduate year at The Lawrenceville School (Class of 2010). I received my BA in Finance at The University of Notre Dame (Class of 2014) and played on the Men’s Varsity Lacrosse team. My senior year, we won the ACC Title and were runners-up in the D1 NCAA National Championship. I currently live in Venice Beach, CA and enjoy surfing, meditating, playing guitar, poker, paddle tennis, acting, reading and writing. Most importantly, my family and friends are the focal point of my life. Life is short – I want to do incredible things while I’m here. Right now, I’m on a mission to build and invest in our future. If I can be helpful to you in any way, please let me know.
